Register
Please refer to the Important dates detailed on the Homepage for registration opening and closing dates.
To attract the standard registration fee, your online registration and payment must be completed by the close of standard registrations.
Registrations will still be accepted up to the close of late registrations but will incur a late fee.
Candidates may sit the test in person at a Sydney test centre or online by Remote Proctoring. Test Centre places are limited, so register early.
How to register
Registration for LAT is only available online. To register, you will need:
- a computer with internet access
- a credit or debit card (Mastercard and Visa Credit/Debit, American Express, China UnionPay and JCB)
- photo-bearing identification details
- a valid email address (hotmail.com or yahoo.com email addresses are not recommended as they may be marked as junk mail or spam). To avoid issues, save the LAT email address (lat@acer.org) to your list of safe senders.
Registration steps
- Check that you are eligible to sit LAT.
- Create an ACER account. If you already have an account from a previous LAT registration, you can use the same account to register this year. If you have forgotten your account details, you can reset your password using the link provided on your ACER account login page.
- If you are eligible for concession, submit your proof before proceeding with your registration. (If you do not do this first, you will be charged the full fee rate).
- Register and pay to sit LAT via your ACER account.
- Complete the online registration and payment.
- Check that you receive an email confirmation of your registration and a payment receipt/tax invoice. (Check your junk/spam folders if you not not receive it.)
- If you register for a remote proctored sitting, there are extra steps that you will need to perform. Please refer to the Remote Proctoring webpages for more information.
- At least 1 month before the test day, ensure that you have arranged your identification and read the important test administration procedures on this website.
- Approximately 2 weeks prior to the test day, download your LAT Admission Ticket in preparation to sit the test.
The first name, last name and date of birth in your LAT registration must match those in the identification document that you plan to use on the test day.
The LAT Office will send reminders to all registered candidates prior to the test day.
Communication with the LAT Office and registration changes
Email is the preferred means of communication with the LAT Office. All communication from the LAT Office will either be sent to the email address that was used to create your ACER account or via the messaging system in your ACER account. You should keep copies of all messages sent from the LAT Office for your records.
Once you have registered for LAT, you can log in and manage your registration to:
- Update your personal details and identification document information. Note, changes to the account name or date of birth must be sent to the LAT Office for approval via your account. You will be asked to upload supporting documentation (e.g. photo ID) for name and date of birth changes.
- Apply for reasonable adjustments.
- Cancel your registration and request a refund of the test fee, less applicable administrative charges.
IMPORTANT NOTE: ACER reserves the right in its absolute discretion to refuse or cancel a registration in any circumstances where ACER considers the application for registration or the registration once completed is not bona fide, or the registration fee as applicable is not received in full and as cleared funds by the payment date or the late registration date given.
